D) decreasing numbers of white Europeans willing to enter indentured servitude.
E) all the above. |

Why do people (especialy Americans) get so edgy about the black slave trade? Don't get me wrong this isn't a racist question, it's just people don't seem to care about the thousands of years of slavery that happened before that. White slaves, Asian slaves, African slaves. Basically all countries had slaves. But why focus on the black slave trade? |
| Only BLACK "people" do that because they need something to blame their failures and shortcomings on and they can't accept the fact they they are genetically and intellectually inferior to us. |
Culturally speaking, did black slaves use to cast voodoo spells on their slave masters ? i was reading a article that said many slave masters died mysteriously and they were believed that black slaves put a spell on them. Is this true ? did black slaves really put curses on their slave masters ? |
| africans (most of the slaves) believed and some still do in voodoo and witchcraft. so that could be a possibility. I don't know though |
Does anyone know the name of the black slave who publihed her autobiography in the 19th century in England? Does anyone know the name of the black female slave who published her autobiography in 19th century England? There was an article about her life in a recent "Daily Mail" but I cannot recall her name or the title of her autobiography. Thanks! |
| Perhaps you are thinking of Mary Prince? |
During the time of slavery, how could one distinguish a slave from a free black? I know this question seems a little silly, but despite the obvious things (like the fact that a slave would not normally be out and about alone, slaves clothing would have been different than that of free blacks, slaves often had to carry passes if they were off the plantation, and their masters would have put out a notice if a slave was gone without their permission), would there be any other way to know whether or not someone was a slave or free? |
Free blacks carried papers stating they were free.
This could include proof of freedom at birth, though a birth certificate or other government document.
And yes (as noted below), papers weren't always honered. |
What was the price to buy a black slave in the 1700's?? I said it costed around $100-$200 to buy a black slave, but my mom said they costed from $300,000 to $1 million dollars.
I told her that back then Americans only earned like 75 cents a day but she said back then people earned 8x as much....
so who' right and who's wrong and what's the average price to buy a black slave back then? |
"...in 1746, a slave could be purchased for about £5 and auctioned in the West Indies for £30-80"

So, $60-160. |
Can a black slave from the 1600-1700's get married to a wealthy white man? I'm writing a diary about a black slave who wants to become a lawyer.. can she become a lawyer? or was that not possible back then.
Was it illegal for a white man to marry a black woman? |
It was absolutely impossible for any black residing in the U.S. (male or female) to become a lawyer in the 1600-1700's. It was illegal for blacks (ie, slaves) to be taught to read and write. It was illegal for them to own property, since they were 'property.'
And, yes, it was absolutely illegal for a white man to marry a black woman. It was called miscegenation, and it was illegal in some states until as recently as 50 years ago.
However, life being what it is, there were many white slave owners who had black (slave) mistresses...including, by the way, President Thomas Jefferson. |
Where they any slave owners (white males) who feel in love with black slave girls? I know there was a few like saying George Washington, he had guyren with his black slave. I want to know if there was any history facts that white men actually feel in love with african slaves or black slaves?
Thank you! |
| Probably. For example, Jefferson had his slave Sally Hemings as his mistress for decades. If he wasn't in love with her, then it's hard to imagine why he didn't marry any other woman, and why he stayed with her specifically. |
Are you tired of Coachman being the black slave of Vince McMahon? Jonathan Coachman is humiliting himself and the black people with his gimmick of bieng "assitant" of Vince McMahon. Now he is not even gm of RAW, that's another white guy and Englishman, William Regal.Jonathan Coachman is the "assistant" of William Regal.
Jonathan Coachman should put a chine and collar on his neck and call Vince his master. |
| yup your right. |
